Pre-Appointment Tips
Below you will find some tips to help prepare for your upcoming tattoo appointment:
** IMPORTANT **
If you are feeling sick or have a sunburn or injury to the area you are wanting tattooed please email us at alexus.inks@gmail.com immediately. Showing up to your appointment in any of these scenarios will result in your appointment being rescheduled and your deposit will be forfeited and a new one will be required to rebook.
Make sure to get a good night’s sleep, drink lots of water, and have a good meal before your appointment.
Please also avoid alcohol 24 hours before your tattoo - alcohol thins the blood significantly, and after a big night, can affect the tattoo process the following day often resulting in less-than-ideal heal.
Eating within 4 hours of your appointment is required to avoid feeling faint or nauseous during your tattoo.
Numbing cream cannot be used due to the risky side effects that can occur. I have numbing agents I can use during the tattoo.
The temperature in the shop can vary so I often recommend bringing layering clothes (and/or a blanket) to be comfortable. Also, we offer heated tattoo tables, so remind me to turn it on if you would like it heated.
I heavily encourage you to bring snacks, food, water, etc for longer sessions. I will usually take a break to eat and you are welcome to as well. We have a microwave or you are welcome to order food to the shop.
You are welcome to bring headphones, a book, iPad, etc. I am happy to chat if that is your preference or if you prefer your own distraction that is also completely fine!
To keep foot traffic down in the shop we ask that you come alone, unless otherwise discussed. Children are not allowed in the shop, so please arrange for childcare in advance.
There is a parking lot available at our location. Please enter from the side door.
Cash or card payments are accepted, thank you!
Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without a phone call's notice to the shop, or your appointment will need to be rescheduled and your deposit forfeited.
Please plan for ample time at the shop. Sessions can be longer between stencil prep, design adjustments, breaks, and tattooing. Knowing how long a tattoo can take is difficult for any tattooer to estimate because of the above factors, as a newer tattooer I want to be upfront that times estimates are difficult for me to know at this point. My goal is to make sure you are comfortable and get the best tattoo I can give you, so please be flexible with your time.
